This one’s for Mom or Kathy or any of you other quilters out there. I’ve got the top pieced. Now what??????
Just FYI: This was pieced using a Moda Wonderland jelly roll. It was my first attempt and I’m pleased. I just realized that I photographed the quilt upside-down. Oops!
And a little about that swing: This swing hung on my grand-parents’ front porch for a very long time. When my aunt and uncle moved out to the farm, they replaced it with their front porch swing. Since it wasn’t much good for swinging just sitting in one of the barns, my uncle passed it on to me! My hubby built the frame and repainted the swing and I finally have a swing in the backyard!
LOVE IT! Is it as large as you want? If not, now you add a border or 2 to make it bigger. Then, you are ready for the quilting. I have some batting pieces you may have if you wish. You would need to piece 2 or 3 of them together to have it wide enough but they are FREE! Let me know if you are interested.
Love,
Aunt Kat
PS: Do you need any Calamine lotion for those quilt-bug bites?
Wow!!! I love it. and the swing! Once that quilt bug bites……… : )
Ask Addison, I understand that she quilts.
I love the colors! So are you joining the ranks of the quilters?
Anne
Your quilt is gorgeous!! Love the story about the swing. One of my favorite memories as a child is swinging in my grandparents' porch swing.
I am glad that you are following in the footsteps of past and present quilters! Looks like you are also good at photography….especially considering the quality of the photograph you captured while standing on your head.
U..D..
